Course Aim

The aim of this course is to give students the ability to evaluate a work role within the tourism industry in terms of personal and legal requirements.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Identify and evaluate specific roles in tourism
  2. Self evaluation of skills, knowledge and attributes in relation to a specific role in the tourism workplace
  3. Analyse the skills necessary to manage time effectively and efficiently and identify ways to alleviate personal stress within the tourism workplace
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of teamwork and its importance within a workplace
  5. Discuss the legal rights and responsibilities of employees and employers in a tourism workplace
